Global Partnership Registration 2014

***If you prefer to pay by check or wire transfer, please contact the VTKW Staff for more information.***

1.   Join the Partnership and Pay the Annual Dues

VT KnowledgeWorks and all the other members of the Global Partnership would like to confirm your region’s full and active participation by completing the Annual Regional Partnership Registration online. Pay the $250 administrative fee, which confirms your involvement in the Student and University Tracks during the Global Partnership Week, August 17-23, 2014.

2.  Student Team Registration for Global Student Challenge

After you join the Partnership, reserve a spot for the winning student team in your region at the Global Student Business Concept Challenge by submitting an Intent to Compete.  Each team or organization must submit an Intent to Compete Registration. Please review all rules and guidelines and direct any questions to the VTKW Staff to ensure a student team’s eligibility.

3.   Individual Registration

Please complete steps 1 and 2 before you make your individual registrations by credit card online for attending student team members and faculty. Event admission options are:

$100/student, includes meals, lodging, and admission to all the week’s scheduled events.

$150/faculty member (or university representative), includes admission to the Global Student Business Concept Challenge, and celebratory meals throughout the week. It also includes participation in the university-to-university roundtable, hosted by the Virginia Tech Office of Outreach and International Affairs. Personal lodging reservations are made by each faculty.

4.   Transportation Reservations

Attendees are responsible for making their own transportation reservations to and from the Roanoke Regional Airport to The Inn at Virginia Tech where student teams will be picked up by their host families (when they arrive Sunday, August 17 and depart Saturday, August 23). View a list of transportation methods from the airport to The Inn at Virginia Tech.

*** The Smart Way Bus is closed on Sundays. Also, if you're renting a car, contact Enterprise (at 1- 540-382-7970) and request the VT Corporate Research Center affiliate rate for special discounts from the Roanoke airport to Blacksburg.

5.    Lodging Reservations

For Students: free lodging is arranged by VT KnowledgeWorks for all students by assigning you to a local host family during the event week. If students prefer to stay in a hotel, they will personally be responsible for the hotel cost, as well as for the shuttle rides to get from the hotel to the various events/activites planned throughout the week. Contact information for the hotels is listed below and please notify the VTKW Staff if you decide to stay in a hotel versus stay with a host family.

For Faculty/University Representatives: special rates for hotel lodging are available when you make your personal reservations at one of the hotels in Blacksburg for the week and at The Hotel Roanoke on Wednesday night only, August 20, 2014.  Please be sure to make your reservations in advance (by early July), since the hotels fill up quickly!
