Global Partnership Registration 2015

submit

***If you prefer to pay by check or wire transfer, please contact the VTKW Staff for more information.***

1.   Join the partnership and pay the annual dues

VT KnowledgeWorks and all the other members of the Global Partnership would like to confirm your region’s full and active participation by completing the Annual Regional Partnership Registration online. The $250 partnership dues reserves your university's place in the Global Partnership Week and confirms your involvement in both the Student and University Tracks. Please review all rules and guidelines and confirm your participation with the VTKW Staff first, to ensure a student team’s eligibility before you pay the $250 partnership registration.

2.  Student team nomination for Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge

After you join the Partnership, reserve a spot for the winning student team in your region at the Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge by submitting an Intent to Compete.  Each team or institution must submit an Intent to Compete Registration.

As soon as a team is nominated to attend the VT KnowledgeWorks Global Partnership Week, you should immediately apply for visas.

3.   Individual registration for both students and faculty

Please complete steps 1 and 2 before you make your individual registrations by credit card online for attending student team members and faculty. Event admission options are:

  • $100 per student, includes meals, lodging, and admission to all the week’s scheduled events.
  • $150 per faculty member (or university representative), includes admission to the Global Student Entrepreneurship Challenge, and celebratory meals throughout the week. It also includes participation in the university-to-university roundtable, hosted by the Virginia Tech's Outreach and International Affairs. Faculty are responsible for making their own hotel arrangements during the event week.  See below on how to receive the special rates secured at our preferred regional hotels.

4.   Transportation Reservations

Review the various transportation services available to attendees to travel to and from the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport, as well as to explore the region throughout our event week. Instructions for all attendees about how to make you reservations are enclosed within the transportation services PDF.

5.    Lodging Reservations

  • For students: free lodging is arranged by VT KnowledgeWorks for all students by assigning you to a local host family during the event week. VT KnowledgeWorks will also make the hotel room reservation for student teams on Friday, August 21 when our entire group moves to The Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center to conclude our event week.  Students will only have to pay for a hotel room if they opt to extend their stay at The Hotel Roanoke for Saturday, August 22 and beyond. Check out time is at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22.

If students prefer to stay in a hotel during the entire event week, you will personally be responsible for the hotel cost, as well as for the shuttle rides to get from the hotel to the various events/activites planned throughout the week. Contact information for the hotels are listed below and please notify the VTKW Staff if you decide to stay in a hotel versus stay with a host family.

  • For faculty/university representatives: special rates for hotel lodging are available when you make your personal reservations for the entire week.  Please be sure to make your reservations in advance (at the latest by early July), since hotel space fills up quickly!
